The resolution of the VES in the MESS emulator is set at 102x58 pixels. Televisions usually have a smaller visible resolution so a resolution of 95x58 is recommended for real systems, on newer flatscreen televisions it's however possible that the visible resolution will be higher.

While the current version of MESS only displays 102x58 pixels, VRAM actually extends well beyond that to 128x64 pixels but this extra memory is lost because there's no known way to read it back.

Even though PAL televisions display more lines vertically, the Channel F displays about the same as on the original NTSC video system.
