C H E C K E R S VIDEOCART 19 Z On Your Mark The game is for one player against the Channel F Com- puter. The computer plays according to international checker rules. That is to say that a jump must be taken whenever possible. If you try another move when you should be taking a jump, that checker you try to move will not move. Get Set Insert the cartridge into your unit with the edge label toward you and the top label facing up. Press reset button. This will automatically set up the checker board on the screen. The red checkers at the bottom of the screen are controlled by the player and the green checkers at the top of the screen are controlled by the Channel F Computer. Go To move any checker, you must first locate the cursor over that particular checker that you would like to move. The cursor is indicated by a white bordered square. You can only move the cursor square diagonally around the screen. The Game To move a checker, first hold the hand controller with the indicator on the knob pointing directly away from you. Let's assume that the knob is the center of a clock face with the indicator pointing away from you towards 12 o'clock. To move the cursor towards a particular checker you must move the hand controller in the fol- lowing manner: 1-To move the cursor from lower left to upper right push the hand controller knob toward 1-2 o'clock. 2-From upper left to lower right push the hand con- troller knob toward 4-5 o'clock. 3-From upper right to lower left push the hand con- troller knob toward 7-8 o'clock. 4-From lower right to upper left tilt hand controller knob toward 10-11 o'clock. ################################ ### __________________ ### ## I [] [] [] []I ## ## I[] [] [] [] I ## ## I [] [] [] []I ## ## I## ## ## ## I ## ## I ## ## ## ##I ## ## I[] [] [] [] I ## ## I [] [] [] []I ## ## I[]__[]__[]__[]__I ## ### ### ################################ When you have located the cursor over the checker you wish to move, push down on the hand controller. A dark square will appear around the checker. To erase the move, pull up on the hand controller. To move the selected checker repeat the cursor move instructions. Move cursor with checker to desired square, push down on the hand controller. Note: if move is illegal, checker will not move. You must then select the correct move. Your captured checker will appear on the right. The Channel F captured checkers will appear on the left. This is a great way to sharpen your skills.
